Juneteenth Watch Party and Community Discussion

The League of Women Voters of Illinois invites the public to commemorate Juneteenth with a virtual program on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 7:00 pm, featuring acclaimed civil rights activist and musician Van Gilmer. An in-person watch party and community discussion will be hosted at the DeKalb County History Center, 1730 N. Main Street in Sycamore. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the program will be followed by a discussion on civil rights and the importance of truthful, inclusive history. This program is free and no rsvp is required. The event is available to the community through a partnership with the DeKalb County History Center, Ellwood House, and the League of Women Voters of DeKalb County.
